Your roses are gorgeous. We have two little bushes, and they are blooming their hearts out. It is the best show we’ve had since we moved to this house.
All the first blooms are drooping now. If I have a chance, I’ll see if they are worth picturing. We have five people in the house now and a possibility of nine or ten next weekend.
I often feed a lot of people, and I enjoy it, but I always keep the days afterwards as free from stress and tasks as I can…then I can recover from the happy efforts.
That’s a good plan to have down time. There were times when we had people coming one right after another, and I was struggling. I found that prayer really helped, but I had to be desperate before I turned to God. I hope I’ve learned my lesson now.
Absolutely amazing roses! You definitely have a “green thumb.” Your gardening posts always brings a smile to my face. 🙂
Incidentally, I subscribe to the Farmers’ Almanac site emails and thought of you when I read number 6.
10 Reasons To Stop Throwing Away Your Eggshells

6. Add to your garden to keep cats away that may be using it as a litter box. Cats will not like the sharpness under their tender paws. Their smell can also reportedly deter deer and repel slugs, snails, and cutworms without resorting to toxic chemicals. Maybe tantamount to that, mineral-charged eggshells can be crushed and scattered into each hole before planting. Sprinkle additional crushed shells around your plants every couple of weeks. Use them to start your seedlings! Here’s how.
Such a pretty sight.

Right now, this week and next seem overwhelming, but you are right. I will enjoy all the people.

Terrific link Janie. I’ve been putting them in pots of plants where I notice slug damage. It seems to work.
