“Raindrops on Roses, and Whiskers on Kittens…ummm…Bunnies?”
~ Oscar Hammerstein II
The Lens-Artists Photo Challenge for this week is Favorite Things. For me, as is true of most of us, God, family, and home tops the list. After these three there are hundreds of items, situations, places, that I love-the list could go on and on.
It’s pouring rain today. Most of the Northeast coast of the U.S. is experiencing rainfall. I thought it a perfect day to photograph a garden rose wearing a veil of raindrops as a favorite thing. When I went outdoors, instead of a dewy rose, the sweetest vignette presented itself: a bunny using my hanging plant as an umbrella. I think this clever bunny is guaranteed to bring you a smile.
Wild bunnies are just the most fun to watch.

I think so too. Although they can nibble at my garden plants, this year they have been very well-behaved and only de-leafed two lily stems of foliage. The yard is full of clover this year and that is their heaven. I actually heard their voices this year…a low grumbly sound. I think the pair in my yard was annoyed at one another.

I did too, but maybe when the leaves are young and tender they can eat them.

They really are…unless they eat my plants. Then I quickly change my mind.

Kathy,
He is a cutie- and he is out at daytime- doesn’t look like he is afraid at all. Yes, he was a much better click than the raindrop kissed rose. I am glad they have been behaving well this season. Sometimes naughty children become good too. Do they actually growl at each other- I thought bunnies were silent.

Hi Susie, it was the oddest sound they made…truly like a grumble of some kind…not quite a growl. It was a lovable growl if it was one.

Susie, I also just noticed when I looked closer at the photo that it appears he has crossed his front paws. That makes the photo even sweeter. It looks like he was resigned to the fact that he had to wait out the rain.

Hi Kathy,
What is the plant in the hanging pot- what do you all call it?
