An Invitation

cross

“The most wonderful gift in the world, was given by God through the provision of His Son, JESUS! This gift was made personal when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. The death of Christ atones for all of our sins and can bring excitement, joy, and a peace which passes ALL understanding. When we think about the birth of Christ and how he lived and died to bring about a personal relationship—we should say from our hearts: ‘Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!’ ”

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ~John 3:16

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ~Romans 6:23

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. ~Ephesians 2:8-9

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. ~John 1:12

Years ago, when I first began blogging, I asked my Father, an ordained minister in the Wesleyan Church, to write an invitation to Christ Jesus for me. He did so; I used it on my blog, and also kept the copy he made for me in a file. Dad left the earth in January of 2022; he is now with the Lord in his heavenly home. The beautiful words he wrote for me are posted above. The verses are those he chose to explain Christ’s invitation to all mankind.
