A few years ago while browsing a local yard sale I found this sweet little watercolor of a campanula/harebell. On the back was this inscription:
The little picture is doubly precious to me because of the signature and inscription. It is one of my treasures and hangs on my bedroom wall. I have often wondered who Daisy was, and if she lived in this area. My one regret is that she did not date the back of the back of the painting. I am reminded by this to always date the back of my own work, and as a lesson from Daisy, always title and give an explanation of the work if possible.
Another small treasure I have had in my possession for even longer is this small watercolor and stamp art painting that is signed “Souvenir Quebec.” On the back is a stamped address:
I searched the Internet and came up with the history of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary.

Hi. The little painting of the flowers made me curious. I googled Daisy McCormack of New Jersey. There was a Daisy who was married to a George J. McCormack (born 1885) in Burlington, NJ. They were there in 1930 for the census. Wouldn’t it be amazing if that is your Daisy and she might have painted that painting around 1930?

Thank you so much. I googled Daisy McCormack too, but did not think to include New Jersey. The town I bought this in was Pitman New Jersey and by the look of the painting and the frame the time that Daisy lived would be right. I wonder where she was born? A mystery. I will have to follow your lead and see what else I can find. Thanks so much Shelley. Kathy

I also found the same couple and he was a reverend, didn’t find anything else though…so very interesting. I wonder what their story was and what their lives were like.

About 12 years ago I found a pen and ink sketch by Daisy McCormack, done of the Washington Cathedral Garden, at a thrift shop in Glassboro NJ (almost right next to Pitman!). I just came across it in my storage unit & decided to do a little research – so glad I found your website. If I learn anything further I will let you know!

How exciting! Thanks for letting me know about another piece of art. Daisy must have loved flowers and gardens.
