Pinterest – Great Tip

001

My guest room bed is very high. I’ve wanted to let my grandsons sleep in it when we have sleepovers, but I’ve always worried about them falling out. Pinterest to the rescue. I used a plastic noodle, easily found at this time of year in dollar and variety stores, and tucked it under the side of the fitted sheet, near the edge of the bed. Voila! Success is a sure thing with this tip. The noodle becomes a soft barrier with just enough height to stop a young one from falling off the mattress. Thanks Pinterest.

Hi, Thanks for the comment. The bed is an antique and very high. I rolled out of this same bed about 45 years ago. I wasn’t hurt though. The tension of the sheet holds the noodle in place. The noodles are hard enough to not be a suffocation factor.

Hi Joan, A plastic noodle is a long piece of foamy plastic that can be used in a swimming pool. It is about 4 feet long, hollow, and can be used as a flotation device. They are sold for about a dollar here in the US. A Mason Jar is a jar used for canning fresh fruits and vegetables. I am not sure what dishwashing soap would be comparable to Dawn other than to tell you it is advertised as a good grease cutting detergent. It is also gentle. They use it to remove oil from affected birds and wildlife when an oil spill happens somewhere in the world. Happy Days to you in Ireland! My great-grandmother was born in Galway County.
