These are one of the prettiest flowers in all the world…at least I think so! I have heard they are hard to grow because they like Alpine conditions. I love the big fat bud they get that bursts into bloom. The colors in my photograph really don’t do them justice. They truly look like a reflection of the bluest of skies. I am not sure now…I believe they were donated by the Duponts and are public gardens. They are very expensive to visit though. I usually get a Frequent Visitors pass and over the course of a year that does save a lot of money.
I’ve never heard of or seen blue poppies before! I’m thinking I need some in my garden. What a lovely, soft color!

The pastel shade of this poppy is amazing. Is this in Longwood Gardens, Delaware ?

Yes they bloom in the Longwood Gardens Conservatory. They should begin blooming sometime in March. They are spectacular!
