Are these fairy wishes as much a part of your childhood remembrances as mine? Some of my earliest memories of being outdoors involved chasing after these wishes.

I captured only a portion of this wish as it floated against the blue sky, but I am entranced by the way the feathery tendrils become a prism and reflect a bit of rainbow color.

Many of the wishes floating in my yard are now emerging from these Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa) pods, a type of milkweed. I also have common milkweed pods opening and letting their seeds fly free on an aerial bit of fluff.

Pollinators love Butterfly Weed.

Butterflies, such as this Black Swallowtail, also sip the nectar from the blossoms.

I couldn’t resist cropping out a close-up of this beautiful butterfly face.
This post is part of Friday Skywatch. Thank you to the Host of this challenge.

Promises of the garden to come next year.

Yes, I am sure some of those wishes will take root.

Ooooh yes….. I was a child and still as an adult with those fairy wishes .. Haha…. I laughed out loud when I read your post as only this week such a fairy floated by, and I instantly made a wish… 🙂
Love that you are seeing butterflies… We have hardly seen any here in my part of England except for the common white, which we call the cabbage white as they love laying eggs on cabbage leaves..
There is usually a yearly butterfly official survey done on a butterfly count around the country that people take part in… This year is the lowest count by far in the last 50 years… In part due to the very wet and cold spring.
But they have been in the decline for a few years now…
Pesticides not helping either butterflies or bees..
I loved your photos and the image of the bee and swallow tail… lovely to see…
I rushed out myself this morning to take a photo of a sleeping bumble bee in my dahlia flower head..
May we continue to make fairy wishes and embrace Mother Nature’s gifts..
Much love to you.. xx ❤

I’m so glad you continue to wish upon them. I still chase them and try to capture them in my hand. Aren’t sleeping bees the sweetest? It seems like a magical story when you see them within the petals. Thanks so much for stopping by and the comment.

That close up butterfly photo is so stunning.
I can’t remember making such wishes as child, doesn’t mean I didn’t

There is still time. The magic doesn’t end when you are an adult. I think it is the chasing it as it floats past is what is so special about it.

Lovely post! Fairly wishes were not part of my childhood. I wish they had been.

Oh, I wish they were in your childhood. It’s not too late. They must float around on your mountain. Make a wish!

Ok. I will make a wish. Probably should write it down, because I’m apt to forget it.
