“The lizard in the image is a Common House Gecko (also known as Asian House Gecko, Pacific House Gecko, or Moon Lizard), scientifically known as Hemidactylus frenatus.” ~Google
A common gecko was small enough to wander into the shower through a small drainage slit in the window frame. He was so adorable. I didn’t want him to die in the cottage we stayed in by becoming shut up in a closet or cabinet. With just a small prod to his tail, he jumped on my thumb; he was half the size of it, and I deposited him in the front garden. I hope he enjoyed the shower we shared.
The photo was taken in Sanibel, Florida.

That is very amusing. I’m glad it didn’t frighten you.

I’ve always loved bugs and creeping things. I still do love bugs and find them so fascinating, unless of course, they are making a meal of me. The NoSeeUms were bad at times in Southwest Florida.

He is cute. A green lizard lived for years on top of my mother’s thermostat. He could get water in the kitchen sink. He ate flies and ants. The cohabitated quite nicely for years. He often sunned himself on her glass door but she never saw him try to get out even though she often left it open a bit for him. He was not afraid of her at all.

Oh, thanks so much! I love stories like that about the coexistence of people and nature. Lovely.

I don’t like creepy crawlies but I don’t freak out like some people do when
