I loved the cartoon Woody Woodpecker when I was a child. I haven’t seen Woody on television for years; he’s been replaced by cartoons full of gadgets and superheroes. I miss his ornery laugh and pecking. Here are a few woodpeckers and what I think might be a Northern Flicker. I have found a camera with a powerful zoom helps me get an up-close glimpse of the birds I see on bare branches.
These photographs are part of Skywatch Friday.

Beautiful ! Nice to see such up close shots.

Thank you. The zoom on the camera allows me to see what I would otherwise miss out on.

I may be coming to Philly in October. Will try to make a trip to GB or Longwood if possible. I am praying we can meet.

I love the tweety, and the Pixie and Dixie and Jinx, Wally Gator…oh there were so many…I can still sing several of the opening songs. Quick Draw McGraw….Yogi and Huckleberry Hound. I miss the Three Stooges too. The other day I watched a bit of a Shirley Temple biography on YouTube. I used to love watching her on Saturdays.

I love Yogi Bear, Pink Panther, Huckleberry Hound. There were cartoons about a circus, which I forget now what it was called.

Beautiful shots! I grew up watching Woody Woodpecker too (along with other cartoon shows). Fun to tune into Cartoon Network and similar channels and see some of the vintage cartoons from my childhood and watch my granddaughter enjoying them all these years later!

I haven’t seen Woody for a long time…I think we get cartoon network. I’ll have to tune in one day. Thanks!
