Love the pictures on your Weathervane Wednesday- I was going to guess the weathervane was at an airport when I saw you mentioned it was at your local Friendly icecream parlour.
There used to be weathervanes on church steeples in the past – are there there still ?

Hi Susie,
I will keep a look out for weather vanes on steeples. The weather vanes are often on a structure called a cupola such as the one shown in the ice cream photo. I am hoping to one day get one to put on my own house…although it will have to go on the roof since I don’t have a cupola.

Wow ! Then it will look like a ship captain’s house- don’t know why I said that- maybe I read it somewhere and the memory stuck.
