At the moment of his birth my older son was very vocal, immediately protesting his entry into the cold world. My younger son was quiet, gazing upward at the delivery room lights, no crying, a quiet contemplation of the world. They have stayed exactly the same throughout their lives, one talkative, one quiet. Who they were at the moment of their birth is who they have remained. The knowledge in me that their personalities were in place before they were even born once again solidifies my view on abortion. It’s time for everyone who believes in the sanctity of life to say so!
Here are a few wise quotes:
“Late-term abortions, especially when the baby survives, but is then killed by starvation, neglect, or suffocation, show once again the link between abortion and infanticide. The time to stop both is now.” ~Ronald Reagan
“The state could have been concerned about rendering society callous to infanticide … the horror of seeing a live human creature outside the womb dismembered. Can’t that be a valid societal interest?” ~Antonin Scalia
‘We need to recapture the gospel glow of the early Christians who were nonconformists in the truest sense of the word . . . Their powerful gospel put an end to such barbaric evils as infanticide and bloody gladiatorial contests. Finally, they captured the Roman Empire for Jesus Christ.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
I love that quote by Martin Luther King jr. . It was however not a war one in a day. The early Christians had to sacrifice much to change their culture and it began with them going into the woods where those babies we’re exposed and left for dead. It took them being willing to take those rejected children in as their own and to raise them in the faith. It will cost us no less today

Thank you so much for adding the history behind the quote. I didn’t know those facts. I so appreciate your taking the time to add them to the post.

My pleasure. May God send laborers into this harvest field. In our own church my pastor’s wife met a girl considering abortion and she and pastor offered to take the baby in as their own if she would only not abort. Mom decided to keep the baby and so Pastor and his wife have tracked with them both even becoming friends with the grandparents to lend aid where they can. This is the commitment it will take to end this darkness.

It’s hard to know where to start. The problem is so vast. I think your pastor and his wife did right…one step at a time, one life at a time.

That leaves it in God’s hands. We work with what God sends us.

That’s true…what he sends us is what we are meant to do.

Taking a human life in any form is wrong and it can’t be sugar coated, it’s murder.

Thank you. I completely agree.

Thank God for individual voices and groups such as Focus on the Family who are actively engaged in fighting for babies. The new, sickening bill that Cuomo passed that is now being considered by other states is unconscionable.

I found it fascinating that some of the traits my son exhibited while in the womb were indeed part of his personality.
