Here is the fairy house my grandson Alec built in the back yard. I told him he needed to build it without the help of an adult and only include things that were natural. He thought a few moments, studied the contents of a container of woodland and seashore treasures I’ve collected over the years, and began to build an amazing fairy house. Building a fairy house is a perfect late summer activity. Find a shady spot beneath the shade of a tree, use the roots for stabilizing the frame of the house, and build. So much fun! 🙂

Lovely. i hope at night fairies and elves did actually use this house. We used to read such stories when we were small in books written by the famous English authoress Enid Blyton.

Oh Enid Blyton- a whole bunch of children from my generation grew up on her books- mostly children from the British Colonies I guess.

When I browse old bookstores I’ll keep my eyes open. I still read some of the books I loved as a child.

I think these books are not available in the US. I went in San Diego a couple of years ago and asked a fellow book lover, who owned one of their very popular book stores there, if she had any Enid Blytons and she didn’t know what they were. I was surprised.
