Camellia flowers – what a perfect way to start the week. Cee, host of Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge, posted a beautiful camellia today. Inspired by her photograph, I looked through my flower files and found a few vibrant Camellia photos taken in the Longwood Gardens Conservatory. Nothing banishes winter blues quite as well as the indelible hope and beauty of flowers in bloom.

Even the buds are beautiful.

What’s better than a perfect Camellia blossom? Why, two of course.
Really, really beautiful.

Thanks so much. I wish I was there in person right now gazing on them and feeling the warmth of the beautiful conservatory.

I feel the same. My daffodils are above the surface, growing quickly. They can’t bloom too soon for me.

I knew where one large camellia bush grew in our town and made a point of driving by it to see it in bloom. I could appreciate that one, but I couldn’t grow one myself.

I tried to grow one once, but I think I chose the wrong variety and put it in the wrong place. It didn’t last long here. Maybe I will try again.

You are very good with many plants, so I think a camellia in a different place is a good idea.
