Phriday Phlowers – Tulip Time

Oh, Happy Day, even though the sky is grey and cloudy. This week, I found potted tulips for sale in my local supermarket. At the top of the spear of foliage, I could see that they would be the shade of yellow I love. Sure enough, they have blossomed into a gorgeous, pale yellow. I put them on my counter near the window during the day, so they won’t grow too leggy. I also put a bit of moss on top of the bare earth to give it a more natural appearance. These beautiful booms certainly brighten my day and mood.

  1. Lovely blooms, like a bit of sunshine inside!

I’m still enjoying a video clip of daughter Lise planting tulip bulbs she brought me from Amsterdam last fall. It won’t be long until I look for green poking through the earth.

    1. I’m seeing a few green daffodil sprigs push through the earth in my gardens. The tulips are still underground. In the bad storms of this week, a pot that I planted with tulips was tossed over. When I lifted it up and refilled it with earth, I saw the tulips were rooted and green beneath the surface of the soil. I can imagine yours are the same. How exciting to have real Dutch flowers in your yard.
