Perspective – Judging by the Headlines

Sometimes I don’t need to add any words of explanation. Here are recent headlines concerning our outgoing president, and our newly-inaugurated president.

Christian Headlines – “Trump, in Final Proclamation, Urges Americans to Fight for the Unborn: They’re ‘Made in the Holy Image of God‘”

NBC News – “Biden readies sweeping rollback of Trump-era abortion crackdown.

There is a link to the official government page included with the Christian Headline article. The link did not work for me. I checked two other sources of the same proclamation, and their links were broken too, so I am assuming that the statement was removed.

Perspective – The Opposite of Love

At the moment of his birth my older son was very vocal, immediately protesting his entry into the cold world. My younger son was quiet, gazing upward at the delivery room lights, no crying, a quiet contemplation of the world. They have stayed exactly the same throughout their lives, one talkative, one quiet. Who they were at the moment of their birth is who they have remained. The knowledge in me that their personalities were in place before they were even born once again solidifies my view on abortion. It’s time for everyone who believes in the sanctity of life to say so!

Here are a few wise quotes:

“Late-term abortions, especially when the baby survives, but is then killed by starvation, neglect, or suffocation, show once again the link between abortion and infanticide. The time to stop both is now.” ~Ronald Reagan

“The state could have been concerned about rendering society callous to infanticide … the horror of seeing a live human creature outside the womb dismembered. Can’t that be a valid societal interest?” ~Antonin Scalia

‘We need to recapture the gospel glow of the early Christians who were nonconformists in the truest sense of the word . . . Their powerful gospel put an end to such barbaric evils as infanticide and bloody gladiatorial contests. Finally, they captured the Roman Empire for Jesus Christ.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Quotes – Jeremiah, Luke & Psalms

Saving Grace.

“When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” ~ Luke 1:41

“For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.”
~ Psalms 139:13-16

The Pro-Choice option of terminating a pregnancy has snuffed out close to 60 million lives. A baby has a soul and spirit—and is just that, a baby, not a mass of tissue. A baby developing in it’s mother’s womb is a human being created by God.

I don’t know what the answer to the abortion crisis is, but I do know I must speak out, and continue to do so, and this week I intend on contacting my state representatives about the atrocities being committed by Planned Parenthood. (Profiteering off of human baby body part sales.) Don’t just take the easy way out, and say, “That’s horrible,” and then blithely go about your normal day-to-day life. Pick up a pen, write a letter or email, and let your voice be heard.

“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
