What a sweet picture, Kathy! I didn’t realize there were special feeding bottles available. Did you use a sugar/water mix or is a liquid available specifically for these mesmerizing birds?
Jane, this was in a bird feeding station built by Lisa Salmon in Anchovy, Jamaica. Since I have been there and felt those tiny feet on my finger thoughts of it have run parallel to everything else I am thinking about…almost like a favorite song playing in your head. The bottles were small plastic bottles with small hole in the top. I believe it was a sugar water mixture.
Mine will let me get close, but I don’t think I would ever have thought to try this. Later next week I’m going to post on the whole story, but was pressed for time yesterday and could only post the pic.

I am going to try at home next summer, and perhaps try to coax some of my winter birds to eat from my hand…or hat. 🙂

Love having the Hummingbirds in the Summer around my feeder, but they go away if anyone is around. Would love to have one do that….love the photo. 🙂
