This post is for all the wonderful people who create fun for the little people in their lives. My grandsons love scavenger hunts. It’s been awhile since they have slept over so I wanted to have a special movie night for them. First we’ll barbecue some shish kabob on the grill, then we’ll have a scavenger hunt all around the house. I’ve hidden quite a stash of items in various hiding spots, all with a movie night theme.
I’ll give each of them a basket, the first clue, and there will be some wild scampering around the house to find the treasures and the next clue.
I have several movies on hand for them to choose from tonight. One of those is Pete’s Dragon. We all saw it together a few months ago in the theater. It is now available on DVD, and because I loved the story as much as they did, I bought a copy for all of us to share. Disney Films, Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard, the children who play the leading roles, along with Pete the Dragon, do a wonderful job in making this story magical.

My comment disappeared. ??? I’m so glad you are doing a treasure hunt for your grandchildren. I always did an indoor one for my children and their cousins on Christmas. I didn’t realize how much they loved it until they were grown and told me so. I tried it once for their children who didn’t like it at all. Guess it’s just as well we moved far away, and I won’t be tempted to do another for them.

The treasure hunt was a success! They are still young enough to love it. They also like their tech games, but they still love scavenger hunts. Sorry your comment disappeared…I don’t see it here in my comment boxes. Thanks for writing another.

Hope you had a wonderful movie night and scavenger hunt with them. I always wonder how you can get little children to read clues. I guess thats how God feels when he sends us messages and we don’t get it.

We had a great time Susie. They are just now finishing up the movie and watching a few minutes of a cartoon. I hope they are able to sleep now…I’m tired myself. They have more energy than I have. My oldest grandson is ten years old so he reads the clues, and the younger ones follow his lead.
